Probably the most popular London Christmas Market is Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. This Christmas market combines all essential winter activities in a magical environment and creates a festive paradise for the whole family. This market is located in the middle of London’s largest park, Hyde Park  in central London. Here you will find stalls, attractions, ice rinks and shows for visitors of all ages.

The Winter Festival at the Southbank Center

The Southbank Center is worth a visit in every season, but at Christmas time it becomes a veritable Christmas paradise. This is the ideal place to get some last Christmas gifts and then indulge yourself with a hot chocolate and an English pie. The Christmas market in London offers many craft stalls and art installations at Christmas.

Leicester Square Christmas Market

Right in the center, around Leicester Square, is one of the most beautiful Christmas markets ever. Everything sparkles and glitters so wonderfully and there is so much to experience and discover here. In addition to strolling through the classic stands with Christmas items, sweets and mulled wine, you can meet Santa here or watch one of the many Christmas shows. Admission to the Christmas market is of course free, but you need tickets to meet Santa or go to a show.

Covent Garden Market at Christmas

The same thing happens with the Greenwich Market at Christmas with the  Covent Garden Market . At Christmas time, this market simply has a very special magic! Extravagant decorations combined with events: last year there was a complete Christmas ballet performance.

Christmas on the Thames right next to London Bridge

We kept the Christmas market in London with the best view for the end. Of course, this is not the last placed Christmas market – quite the opposite! It is a bit smaller, but compensates for this with its beautiful decoration and a unique view of the Tower of London  and Tower Bridge . A visit to this Christmas market can be perfectly combined with a walk along the south bank of the Thames and then you can  plan a tour of the famous Borough Market.

The Greenwich Market at Christmas time

Greenwich Market is not a Christmas market, it is rather a traditional London market that guarantees a very special visit during the Christmas season. Greenwich Market is generally one of the city’s most beautiful markets and less touristy than other more central markets. On the holidays you will find everything you need to decorate your home for Christmas, as well as hot chocolate and mulled wine. The most festive months of the year are definitely a good time to discover Greenwich! Here, too, you (or maybe your children) can meet Santa in his grotto and the Christmas Late Markets on the three Advent Wednesdays offer extra festive stands with shopping opportunities.

Christmas Lights

Basically, you can say that the best and most lighting can be found where the money is, namely in the most famous shopping streets around Regent Street and Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square, and Carnaby . In addition to the lush street lighting in this area, a look at the Harrods is also worthwhile, as always . In Camden Town toothe Christmas mood was felt. After all around the London Eye there are many lights to admire, but a little more at the Christmas markets. Basically, however, the whole city is full of Christmas lights, but it really stands out in the places mentioned. By the way, a lot of people come annually only or mainly because of the famous Christmas lights in London, in the last few days you have really seen a lot of people walking around with cameras and tripods at night. In any case, it is worth it, one can really only say: magical and magical!
