Weekend in Europe is free to read. To keep it that way, some pages earn money. Here is exactly how, and what never changes.
Affiliate links
Some links to tours, tickets, hotels and train tickets are affiliate links. If you click one and book, the company pays us a small commission. You pay the same as you would going direct.
We mark these clearly. Any box of booking links on a page starts with the word Ad and explains that it contains affiliate links. We add these links only after we have chosen what to recommend, never the other way round.
Partnerships
From time to time a tourism board, hotel or brand may invite us or pay for content. When that happens, the article or Instagram post says so at the top, with the word Ad or "In partnership with", and the partner never sees or approves the text before it is published.
What never changes
- We choose places on their merits. No one can pay to appear in a guide, a shortlist or our weekly picks.
- We check the facts. Opening dates, ticket rules and closures are checked against official sources, and each guide shows when it was last checked.
- No prices in our guides. Prices change faster than guides do, so we describe value in words and point you to the official source.
