Ski resort opening dates for 2026/27 are now out for almost every big name in Europe. The calendar below lists 46 resorts in France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Andorra, Spain, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Bulgaria, with the first and last day of the season. We checked every row on the resort’s own website, its lift company or the national tourist board in October 2026, and each one links to the source.

Season dates from resorts, lift companies and tourist boards, checked on 29 October 2026. Openings depend on snow: check the resort's own site before you travel. Childcare ages are the minimum ages resorts publish.
"Announced" means the resort has published its dates. "Provisional" means the resort has given only part of the picture, for example a month without an exact day, or different dates for different sectors; the note on the row says what is confirmed.
The early openers
The glacier resorts start first. Sölden opened its glacier slopes on 9 October, Breuil-Cervinia followed on 24 October and Engelberg-Titlis on 29 October. Saas-Fee and Zermatt open around the start of November. These are the places for a first weekend on snow before the main season.
The long seasons
At the other end, Zermatt and Livigno run into May 2027, and Breuil-Cervinia, Hemsedal and Åre keep going until early May too. High-altitude resorts are the safer choice for a spring weekend.
Before you book
Opening dates depend on snow. Resorts can open late, or run a reduced area for the first weeks, so check the resort’s live lift status a few days before you travel. Some resorts open only part of the ski area at first, so read the note on each row.
